FAQ
- Where is my ticket after purchase?
- You'll get a confirmation email with a QR code, which you can add to Apple Wallet. One code covers the whole order — it admits as many people as there are tickets on it. Show it to the volunteer at the door, or sign in and find it any time under “My tickets”. If the email hasn't arrived, check spam, then message the WeChat assistant.
- How does seating work?
- For open mics and specials, seating is first-come, first-served after doors open. Arrive at door time if you want a specific spot.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes — up to 72 hours before the show, and you do it yourself under My tickets. Exchanges are not supported. Live event tickets are non-standard goods; except for cancellations or postponements due to force majeure, refunds are not available within 72 hours of the show. What comes back is the ticket price less the payment processing fee, which the payment network keeps on a refund and we cannot return. A friend ticket someone sent you was never paid for, so there is nothing to refund.
- How do I get a refund?
- Sign in, open My tickets, tap the order and the refund button is underneath it. Choose how many to return and say why; it is processed there and then, with nobody to wait for. On an order of several you can return just some of them — the same QR code still admits the rest. What comes back is the ticket price less the payment processing fee, which the payment network keeps and does not return on a refund; the page sets out all three figures before you confirm. The balance reaches your original payment method in about 5–10 business days. Inside 72 hours of the show the button goes grey — message the assistant on WeChat at that point.
- Is there a student price?
- On most shows, yes. In the ticket dialog choose “I’m a student” and we'll email a code to your .edu address — the address that gets the code is the address that gets the ticket. It takes a percentage off one seat rather than the whole order, and that seat is the cheapest one in your basket. One per address per show, and it is verified afresh every time you buy. The exact percentage is shown on the show's own page.
- Can I buy a gift card?
- Yes. On the Gift cards page pick an amount and enter their email address — the code goes straight to them once you've paid. To spend it, type the code into the discount box in the ticket dialog. The balance can be used across several orders and stacks with a discount code. Gift cards do not expire and carry no fees, but cannot be exchanged for cash.
- What is improv comedy?
- Improv has no script — the scenes and the jokes are built on stage as they happen. We run improv events from time to time and they're free to join; you'll be up there playing with everyone else. Message the Dingho assistant on WeChat and we'll let you know when the next one is.
- Can I get on stage?
- Yes! Use the “Perform” link on this site and fill in the short form — your name, how to reach you, which city you're in, and a video link if you have one. We'll be in touch about review sessions, table reads and open mic slots. You can also add the Dingho assistant on WeChat to join the performer group.
